living with oculopharyngeal

muscular dystrophy

Well hello there! Here's some facts about me:

My name is Jessica.

I'm a 25 year old girl who lives in Stockholm, Sweden with my fiancé, have an education in zookeeping (yes really, that's something that exists!) and currently work in a successful toyshop in the northern part of the city.

I have been diagnosed with Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy which is a disease that's otherwise known to affect people in their 40's as the earliest. It's rather similar to MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and the disease doesn't show on me, which I consider as both a curse and a blessing.
It's a curse because people that doesn't know me tend to not believe in me or my disease and always over exaggerate my abilities, and it's a blessing because I look like any normal 25 year old and are able to get by without help from others mostly thanks to me being stubborn as hell.

I support Stockholm's dog pound by volunteering as a doggywalker regularly.

My hobbies are archery, even thou I haven't held a bow or arrow in about four years, reading different kinds of fanfiction, photography either with my big system camera or with my Sony Ericsson Satio that captures impressive images for being a mobile phone. So I also have a sore spot for technological things, which is something I have in common with my fiancé...

So I'm a girl with lot's of things on my plate, and this is only a few of them!
